Message from the ER
As the fraternal year winds down, we have several important issues coming our way. First and foremost are the proposed amendments to the bylaws. As you read further, you will find that we are looking at changing our Life Membership rules as well as halving the amount of meetings we have per year. I strongly encourage all of our members to voice their opinions. I feel that it is in the best interest of the Lodge to maintain our current weekly schedule as opposed to going to a twice a month program. This may be an effective solution for other Lodges, but I feel that it is important for Ouray to maintain the track that we have been on – and that is four meetings a month. On a less important note, we are also discussing raising our dues to $65.00 per year, up $5. I urge you to come to the meeting to voice your opinion. Voice it where it counts, on the Lodge Room floor.
Some of the other topics for the end of the year are the incoming officers. Nomination, election and installation are all coming up and new officers are needed to replace retiring ones. Now is your chance to make a big difference for your Lodge, become an officer this year. I hope to see you at the next meeting.
Sincerely, Michael Canavan
